FORMAT PORTFOLIO REVIEW FAQ 

BOOKING SYSTEM 

Our bespoke booking system enables you to choose the Reviewers you want to see at the time you want to see them. It is a first come first serve basis. You can view and select the slots you want via the drop-down box under each reviewer. Once your slots have been chosen, you will have 30 minutes to complete the transaction. Please note that your reviews are not confirmed until you have paid. 

WHO CAN BOOK? 

These Reviews are aimed at photographers (or multimedia artists) with a developed and serious approach to their practice. Recent graduates are welcome. Please contact info@formatfestival.com for any queries. 

WHAT TIME ZONE DO THE REVIEWS TAKE PLACE IN? 

All time zones are in GMT. 

HOW CAN I BOOK? 

Bookings will open on Thursday 27 November at 12pm GMT. When bookings have gone live, the review slots under each reviewer will be available to add to your basket. 

WHO SHOULD I SEE?

Our panel includes professionals representing leading galleries and festivals, as well as established freelance practitioners — all ready to offer meaningful perspectives and expert advice on your portfolio.

We encourage you to read all reviewer bios carefully; each professional offers valuable insight, and selecting the reviewer who best aligns with your work will lead to the most meaningful experience.

PAYMENT 

Our dedicated booking system will accept all major credit and debit cards. 

VENUE 

The Portfolio Review will take place online via Zoom. Information about the review day, including the zoom link, will be sent to all participants prior to the reviews.  

REFUND POLICY 

There is a NO REFUND policy, and reviews are NON-TRANSFERABLE. Once you book, your reviews are final. We advise you to look through the Reviewers and make a list of at least 15 that you would like to see, in the order you would like to see them so that you are prepared when you book. 

In the case that a Reviewer has had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, we will make every effort to assign you another Reviewer. FORMAT cannot be held accountable for this and will not offer a refund. 

HOW DO THE REVIEWS TAKE PLACE? 

The reviews will begin promptly at 10am GMT. Please ensure that you join the dedicated zoom link 10 minutes prior to each review to ensure the reviews take place on time. When the review begins, you will be put into an individual zoom breakout room with your reviewer. Each review lasts 20 minutes. You will be given a 5 minute and 1 minute alert in each review. At the end of the review, you will be automatically removed from the breakout room. There will be a 10-minute break between each review, two 20-minute tea breaks, and a 40-minute lunch break at 1pm. 

Note: It is the responsibility of the photographer to ensure you are on time for each review; FORMAT cannot guarantee that any latecomers will be able to catch up with the lost time.
